Top Stocks YTD ranks every S&P 500 stock by its year-to-date (YTD) return in 2026: one leaderboard, best to worst, measured from the December 31, 2025 closing price (US markets were closed on January 1, 2026). Alongside the leaderboard you will find a page for every stock, GICS sector rankings, head-to-head comparisons, a YTD calculator, a personal watchlist, and monthly archives of the top performers.

Data and updates

Price data comes from Yahoo Finance and is adjusted for stock splits and dividends; the constituent list follows the S&P 500 as published on Wikipedia. The site is rebuilt twice each weekday (once before the market opens and once after the close), so the rankings always reflect the latest closing prices. How returns are calculated is documented on the methodology page.
